Processed foods are often high in unhealthy fats.
They usually contain cheap fats, refined seed- and vegetable oils (like soybean oil) that are often hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated… which turns them into trans fats.
Trans fat: A liquid oil that’s been reformulated into solid fat to increase the shelf-life of foods. Trans fat can both increase your LDL cholesterol and decrease your HDL, or “good,” cholesterol, making it the unhealthiest dietary fat. It is best to stay away from foods containing these fats. (Look for hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oil in the ingredient label).
Vegetable oils are extremely unhealthy, and most people when they see the word “vegetable” assume that they are good for them.
Several studies show that when people eat more of these oils, through a long period of time, they have a significantly increased risk of obesity, diabetes and heart disease, which is the most common cause of death in Western countries today.
If the fats are hydrogenated, that makes them even worse. Hydrogenated (trans) fats are among the nastiest, unhealthiest substances you can put into your body.
Once again, the best way to avoid serious illnesses, obesity and addiction to chemically induced foods are to avoid processed foods, seed oils and trans fats. ONLY EAT FOOD. Anything processed chemically, deep fried, nuked at high temperatures and loaded with sugars steps out of the realm of ‘Real Foods’ and into the arena of slow acting poisons instead.
