When people ask me this question, they’re asking me “how quickly can I cause damage to my health.” Losing weight too fast (1 to 2 pounds a week is considered OK) could put you at risk of many health problems, including muscle loss, gallstones, nutritional deficiencies, and a drop in metabolism.
To lose 25 pounds at a safe pace – if a person is willing to eat the right foods at every meal and keep a reasonable portion control – it would take between 12 to 25 weeks.
