Fasting for long periods of time is bad for you. Your body needs vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients from food to stay healthy. If you don’t get enough, you can have symptoms such as fatigue, dizziness, constipation, dehydration, and not being able to tolerate cold temperatures.
The best fasting method I found is fasting daily for 12 hours, so if you get up at 8 AM daily, your last meal should be at 8 PM the previous night. In addition to that I walk or do the elliptical or treadmill about one and a half hours after my last meal at a moderate pace without inclining the machine or walking up hills.
It’s good to give the digestive system a rest, for some foods take from 3 to 6 hours to digest and red meat takes 3 days. It’s not a good idea to fast to lose weight, even if that might be a side effect of fasting,. Do it for health reasons and to increase your energy during the day.
If you stick to eating the right percentage of macronutrients, protein, complex carbohydrates and fat and add to it vegetables, you’re going to lose weight. There are a few things you can do, however, to super-charge your weight loss. While you can eat any food and drink anything you want, you will have to eliminate primarily carbonated drinks, sport drinks, junk food, deep fried foods, and stimulants.
