Several years ago during one of my seminars I brought up the point on why people did not need to go to a gym to workout. Besides the following factors below, today people are very much afraid to go to health clubs because of the issue of contagious viruses. My reasons for not using health clubs to workout, is merely a question of time conservation.
There’s very few Health Clubs that are set up to properly serve the needs of the individual that wants to live a longer healthier life, you need to find one where the trainers are well trained, the staff cares, and therefore, maximum results can be accomplished.
Health clubs have traditionally been built by fitness “buffs” – weightlifters, bodybuilders, and similarly extreme athletes. The resulting facilities and programs are designed to meet the needs of these select few athletes and poorly address the needs of the general population. Health Clubs are a perfect social environment replacing bars, churches, and other social groups where someone can meet an individual or individuals that share a similar lifestyle and hopefully beliefs.
There’s very few Health Clubs that are set up to properly serve the needs of the individual that wants to live a longer healthier life, one needs to choose a health club, where the trainers are well trained, where the trainers are aware of the evolutionary changes to the body as one reaches certain levels of aging (e.g. 30 years, 40 years, 50 years, 60 years, and up), where the staff cares, and therefore, maximum results can be accomplished. While there may be many clubs worthwhile exploring, to date I have not found one that meets all the requirements necessary to train all different age groups satisfactorily.
When the general population first got involved in the “fitness fad”, a situation was created where people were reaching a level of health and fitness while incurring long-term serious physical damage. Within a few years people found themselves in the same unfit, if not worse, condition as when they first started…. best case scenario, they just looked better.
Now, millions of people carry the damaging effects of unsupervised and incorrectly supervised workouts compounded by the long-term intake of dangerous “nutritional” products (i.e., health damaging stimulants and physical enhancers that have corrupted nervous systems, physical well-being, and everyday performance). The results of these damaging “fitness fads” have opened up a whole new industry of doctor prescribed drugs and excessive surgery.
The best thing to do if you want to stay fit conserve your free time, eliminate traveling back and forth to a facility to workout, is to do your workouts at home. So learn how to workout properly to avoid injury and make sure that you don’t become obsessed with long damaging workouts.
