Avoid unconscious eating habits. Do not eat while working, watching TV, or driving. This type of eating usually entails eating junk food, eating too fast without chewing well, nervous eating increased stress and a feeling that you really haven’t had a good meal.
Mind your food. Eat slowly, savoring the smells and textures of your food. Usually when I find myself starving, I start cooking first. I don’t grab food that’s already there, but I create a meal and it seems to calm my hunger down. When I eat what I cook I eat slower and taste every bite.
Variety. Try different things, different restaurants, different ethnic foods.Focus on savoring your meals. Slow down your eating pattern.
Stop eating before you are full. When we eat, there’s a delay time from our stomachs to the brain and for that reason many of us overeat. If you are one of those people whose parents forced to eat everything on the plate, make sure you fight that feeling and always leave something on the plate…no matter how much it hurts.
