Calories obtained from fructose (found in sugary beverages such as soda and processed foods like doughnuts, muffins, and candy) will weight on you, usually around your belly, your hips, your thighs and eventually your back. Understanding what percentage of complex carbohydrates you should eat and cutting out the simple sugar foods can mean better health, a slimmer body and lowering your risk of major diseases like diabetes, heart attacks and strokes.
The Role Of Fruits Vegetables And Fiber
Cutting calories, doesn’t necessarily mean you have to eat less food.
High-fiber foods such as fruit, vegetables, beans, and whole grains are higher in volume and take longer to digest, making them more filling—and great for weight-loss.
However the mental craving for sweets is something you need to control, or you will eat all the fruits, vegetables and fiber foods you can handle and on top of that you will eat your sweets.
While some people think that “it’s generally okay to eat as much fresh fruit and non-starchy vegetables as you want” nothing could be further from the truth.
There used to be a comedian that used to say, “If you eat 40 pounds of hay, you’ll gain 40 pounds” While that is an extreme and funny comment the message is there, overeating will make you Fat. So you need to control your mental cravings and have a purpose for your eating, which should be to provide your body the necessary nutrients for it to function correctly.
