Sports drinks benefits are summed up to just one thing, which is a quick source of energy when your body is depleted of stored and usable energy.
These drinks do contain electrolytes like sodium and potassium which are lost through sweat, but are high in sugar and calories, which could lead to weight gain and diabetes.
Drinking sugary sports drinks, such as Gatorade, is associated with:
* weight gain.
* poor diet.
* switching from healthful drinks.
* raised risk of diabetes and obesity.
Most sports drinks contain electrolytes to rehydrate people and provide energy, but one would be better off drinking pickle juice and avoid the high levels of sugar, which increase people’s health risks.
As we workout we lose sodium and potassium through our sweat, so it’s important to keep hydrated throughout any intense workout. You can make energy drinks at home and take them to the gym with you to avoid the danger of those store-bought energy drinks.
