Fifty to sixty years ago we didn’t have to worry about chemicals in our foods, and food manufacturers could be trusted to a certain extent. Ignorance on the effects of bleaching flour and sugar and their future side effects, was just that…ignorance with no harm intended.
Today, food manufacturers in pursuit of larger monetary gains act with full knowledge of the harmful effects, serious illnesses and even death that the chemicals that they put in their foods cause. Food today parallels the 20’s to the 50’s with the evils of cigarette smoking. And even then when they were finally forced to warn us on the package of the cancer causing effects of smoking, marketing and advertisers made it look “cool” to smoke, and taking advantage of that cigarette manufacturers went a step further by loading their products with very addicting chemicals and the result was more than 480,000 deaths annually (including deaths from secondhand smoke) 278,544 deaths annually among men (including deaths from secondhand smoke) 201,773 deaths annually among women (including deaths from secondhand smoke).
Cigarette smoking is estimated to cause the following: More than 480,000 deaths annually (including deaths from secondhand smoke) 278,544 deaths annually among men (including deaths from secondhand smoke) 201,773 deaths annually among women (including deaths from secondhand smoke) – Current Report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The chemicals in our foods that carry addicting substances are not to be taken lightly. It is important that not only we be aware and stay clear of such foods, but also that our children be educated and guided to refuse eating such poisons.

- soft, unpasteurized cheeses (often advertised as”fresh”) such as feta, goat, Brie, Camembert, and blue cheese
- unpasteurized milk, juices, and apple cider
- raw eggs or foods containing raw eggs, including mousse and tiramisu
- raw or undercooked meats, fish, or shellfish
- processed meats such as hot dogs and deli meats (these should be thoroughly cooked)
- fish that are high in mercury, including shark, swordfish, king mackerel, marlin, orange roughie, tuna steak (bigeye or ahi), and tilefish
In number 5 above it mentions ‘processed meats’ It seems the good doctor is not aware of the chemical processing of packaged foods today, but I would add those to the list since those foods are filled with dangerous and addicting chemicals…not to mention loads of unnecessary sugar.
