Diet and good nutrition are actually on opposite sides of the spectrum.
While a diet can call for good nutrition, it seldom if ever addresses the chemicals in the foods, the heat at which the food is cooked and the mental influence the brain has on the decisions to accomplish good steady nutrition.
Good nutrition involves staying away from chemically processed foods, added sugar and foods cooked at a high temperature.
Past training of the mind on eating habits and programmed response is a key indicator of how long one will stay on a given diet and the stress that they will undergo by following it.
